The Elbert County Fair Board has several board seats available and is seeking applications. Members of the Fair Board must be residents of Elbert County and submit an application to be considered by September 15th, 2021. All applicants should know the Fair Board is a working board with year-round commitments, required monthly meetings and requirements for actively working during the 8 days of the annual county fair in early August.
The application is simply a one or two-page TYPED letter to the board stating why you would like to be on the fair board, your qualifications, agriculture or other relevant experience and a complete paragraph about your leadership skills and other skills you possess that would be relevant to serving on a working board. Also required
are two references (character references, employer or members of other boards you have served on) who maybe contacted by the board if necessary. You may also include a resume if you like. Fair Board needs at this time include marketing and advertising, secretarial, Open Class Superintendent, Vendor Coordinator and Parade Superintendent. Applicants that demonstrate skills in these areas and willingness to take one of these roles will be considered first and should note as much in their application letter.
